I graduated Magna Cum Laude and possess a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in English, and hold several credentials and training certifications, including California Basic Skills Test (CBEST), Single Subject Certification in English from Sacramento State University, and a 30-Day Emergency Substitute Permit from the California Commission on Teaching. Additionally, during my studies at Sacramento State University, I focused heavily on academic courses in language study, race, ethnic and gender studies as well as nearly completing a TESOL Certificate.
Experience
I am a literary agent, published author and editor. I acquire, edit and sell fiction and non-fiction titles to traditional publishers. I have a passion and talent for helping writers develop their creative non-fiction stories. Previously, I was a homeschool parent for 13 years and truly fell in love with teaching. I have also taught English Composition courses. literature, and creative writing at a private university in Sacramento. I continue to share the importance of education by working with professional and community organizations such as California Association of Teachers of English (CATE), Sacramento’s Police Activities League, Mayor Kevin Johnson’s For Art’s Sake Initiative, El Dorado County’s Child Abuse Prevention Council and Sacramento Metro Chamber’s Leadership Program.
