Elementary (K-6) Reading, Math, Science and English STAR TEST California. Teaching is my passion and I find it more meaningful when I focus to a student on one to one basis. It is the most effective way of helping a student to succeed in his/her task. I have been tutoring since I was in college. I taught 6th grade Math and Science in a public school for 3 years in the Bay Area. In my experience, I never sit behind my desk whenever I teach. I always wanted to walk around and check my students work and talk to them one on one just to make sure that each does not just understand but master the lesson. Aside from teaching, I also opened a tutoring program after school for my Math students for the preparation of the California state test (STAR test). I chose 10 students who were mostly in need of extra practice in Math. This program helped my students to gain more skills and confidence to take a pass their test. As a part of an international exchange teaching program, I am very experienced working with students who are culturally diverse. I have learned to work with students with different family backgrounds, different learning styles and culture. I have 3 credentials in teaching and taught middle school for the past three years.
